Occult blood in the faeces can indicate different conditions, especially gastrointestinal diseases such as ulcers, polyps, colitis, diverticulosis, hemorrhoids or colorectal carcinoma. Early detection of occult blood allows an early diagnosis of such diseases and the start of their treatment. INTEX-FOB® Test is a highly specific immunoassay that offers many advantages over the usual Guaiac-Test, in particular a higher sensitivity and specificity, ease of interpretation and no restrictive diet for the patient. Open the tube and take a sample from 3 different places with the help of the applicator stick. Put the stick back into the sample collection tube, close it tight and shake it thoroughly. Break off the tip and apply two drops of liquid into the circular sample well of the test cassette. Read the result after 5 minutes. Samples with a hemoglobin value above 0,5 mg/ml in the extraction puffer are still recognised as positive. SPECIFICITY The INTEX-FOB® Test is specific for human hemoglobin and shows no cross reactivity with the hemoglobin of bovine, pig, rabbit, horse and sheep at a concentration of up to 0,5 mg hemoglobin per ml extraction puffer.
